Slender birch trees rise through an unapologetically hot-pink landscape, their pale trunks layered with white, black, metallic gold, and soft washes of blue and lavender. Scraped and broken marks give the bark its familiar weathered texture, standing in cool contrast to the almost electric color surrounding it.
Below, the forest floor bubbles with tiny pink, coral, white, and golden blooms, scattered black dots, fresh green leaves, and delicate stems reaching upward between the trees. Little rings and wandering marks float throughout the background, giving the whole piece a playful sense of movement, as though an Alaska birch grove has suddenly decided subtlety is wildly overrated.
