A luminous rainbow rises out of a dark, starry field, built from hundreds of overlapping circles, dots, and loose marks rather than clean, perfect bands. Hot pink, orange, yellow, green, blue, and violet pulse against the black, while pale rings and scattered specks drift around it like light, weather, memory, or static.
The rainbow feels bright and joyful, but also a little unsettled. Less like a symbol pinned neatly in place and more like something shimmering in and out of view. The layered marks keep it moving, as though the color itself is trying to decide whether it belongs to the sky, the imagination, or somewhere in between.
...But Only Illusions is the companion to Rainbows Are Visions, the two titles completing a lyric from The Rainbow Connection. Together, they hold both sides of the thought: the wonder of what we see, and the mystery of what it means. This piece is about believing in beauty even when you can’t quite hold onto it. About the things that feel real enough to change us, whether or not we can ever fully explain them.
Comes framed, ready to hang.
