A tangle of wild blueberry branches fills the canvas, layered with luminous greens, deep forest shadows, and berries in every shade of blue. From soft periwinkle and electric cobalt to nearly-black indigo. Pops of violet and pink sneak through the fruit, catching that strange, beautiful moment when Alaska’s blueberries are ripening but haven’t quite decided what color they want to be yet.
Loose brushwork and overlapping leaves create the feeling of looking straight into a berry patch: abundant, tangled, slightly unruly, and absolutely alive. Dark vertical marks and earthy undertones peek through the foliage, giving all that bright color a wonderfully moody backdrop.
The Moody Bloobs is about abundance without perfection. About being somewhere between ripe and not-quite-ready. About growing wild, changing color, and being allowed to have a few moods along the way.
Comes framed, ready to hang.
Created in my Anchorage home studio.
